{"id":12635,"date":"2023-01-30T08:58:19","date_gmt":"2023-01-30T14:58:19","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.phillips66.com\/?p=12635"},"modified":"2023-03-03T11:25:00","modified_gmt":"2023-03-03T17:25:00","slug":"diversity-conferences-deliver-networking-and-growth-opportunities","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.phillips66.com\/newsroom\/diversity-conferences-deliver-networking-and-growth-opportunities\/","title":{"rendered":"Diversity conferences deliver networking and growth opportunities"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Representatives from across business units got to experience several diversity events in the fall of 2022 and brought valuable learning and perspectives back with them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Phillips 66\u2019s relationships with diversity and STEM organizations help withtalent acquisition and provide networking and development opportunities for current employees.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cSeeking different perspectives comes in a variety of ways,\u201d said Sonya Reed, Senior Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer. \u201cWe practice it internally every day through our interactions with each other, but it\u2019s so important that we seek it outside our company, too. Our participation in diversity events is vital to our ability to learn, meet new people and appreciate different points of view.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Six Pride Network leaders and two Human Resource team members attended the <a href=\"https:\/\/outandequal.org\/workplace-summit-2\/\">2022 Out &amp; Equal Workplace Summit<\/a> in Las Vegas. It offered professional development and provided opportunities to learn best practices from other companies on LGBTQ+ issues in the workplace.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cIt was exciting to see how the companies we look up to in this space are creating new ways to be more inclusive and diverse,\u201d said Aaron Galloway, data and reporting coordinator, CMLS and Houston Pride Network co-lead. \u201cIt\u2019s a reminder that we can always do better, and I feel empowered to share what I learned with other ERG leads, too.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image align wp-block-psx-widen-image\">\n\t<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/phillips66.widen.net\/content\/fjimwegi6h\/jpeg\/Out%20and%20Equal.jpeg?keep=c&#038;crop=yes&#038;color=ffffffff&#038;quality=54&#038;u=s3whhe&#038;retina=true\" width=\"959\" height=\"719\" alt=\"\" loading=\"lazy\" \/><figcaption><em>Pride Network leads and Human Resources employees participate in the 2022 Out &amp; Equal Workplace Summit in Las Vegas.<\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/we22.swe.org\/\">Society of Women Engineers<\/a> held its 2022 national conference in Houston with the theme, \u201cA world of opportunity awaits.\u201d With more than 15,000 attendees, it is the world\u2019s largest conference for women in engineering and technology.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In addition to learning and networking, Phillips 66 employees and executive leadership were speakers and presenters. Zhanna Golodryga, Executive Vice President of Emerging Energy and Sustainability, introduced the closing keynote, adding, \u201cAs a woman, mother, engineer, immigrant and energy executive, I have seen my share of challenges and learned to embrace them as opportunities. This is also the mindset that we have at Phillips 66.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Phillips 66 employees also led several panel discussions and breakout sessions, including \u201cCheck Your Engines: A 12-point Inspection for Mental Hygiene,\u201d \u201cEnergy Transformation: Concept to Commercialization,\u201d and \u201cManaging Motherhood: Resilience Strategies and Life Hacks for Working Parents.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image align wp-block-psx-widen-image\">\n\t<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/phillips66.widen.net\/content\/gqsjvf0vl8\/jpeg\/SWE%20Group%20Photo.jpeg?keep=c&#038;crop=yes&#038;color=ffffffff&#038;quality=54&#038;u=s3whhe&#038;w=940&#038;h=705\" width=\"940\" height=\"705\" alt=\"\" loading=\"lazy\" \/><figcaption><em>More than 60 Phillips 66 employees represented the company at the 2022 Society of Women Engineers National Conference in Houston.<\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>More than 30 employees and Houston Women\u2019s Network members headed to Austin for the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.txconferenceforwomen.org\/\">2022 Texas Conference for Women<\/a>. This one-day event provides connection, motivation, networking, inspiration and skill-building opportunities for thousands of Texas women each year. Sessions range from personal finance to health and wellness to career advancement. Keynote speakers included award-winning authors, news correspondents and Diversity, Equity and Inclusion professionals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Phillips 66 also supports and engages with the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nacme.org\/\">National Action Council for Minorities in Engineering<\/a>, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nsbe.org\/\">National Society of Black Engineers<\/a> and the <a
